Scottish Bioinformatics Forum
The Scottish Bioinforamatics Forum (SBF) was formed in 2001 under the stewardship of Scottish Enterprise and since January 2008 has been governed by The RSE Scotland Foundation. It's activities are currently funded by the Scottish Government, Scottish Funding Council and Scottish Enterprise. The SBF's strategic goals are to:
- Increase the number of effective multi-disciplinary projects being conducted in Scotland
- Raise the national and international profile of bioinformatics in Scotland
- Attract quality people, companies, funding and investment
- Provide a stimulating environment in bioinformatics skills, learning, training and knowledge for science graduates
The SBF's activities are managed by its Director, Dr Chris Janssen and Ms Sandra Borthwick and are overseen by a Steering Group, which reports to the RSE Scotland Foundation Trustees.
